Rhinoplasty Recovery

Recovery from rhinoplasty takes from 10 to 14 days on average. The nasal cast will be removed in our office in approximately one week; you’ll want to avoid disturbing it and keep it dry. Other tips to speed up your recovery: refrain from blowing your nose until given the okay; do not wash your hair for one week; wear clothing that fastens in the front or back; avoid excess facial movements and extreme physical activity; stay away from foods that require prolonged chewing; do not wear glasses or sunglasses for at least four weeks; avoid the sun for six weeks; and manage your pain with prescribed medications only.

Revision Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is both a science and an art. The ultimate goal is to achieve a result that makes the patient happy. Sometimes, a patient will undergo a rhinoplasty procedure and be disappointed in the results. Revision rhinoplasty, or secondary rhinoplasty, is aimed at correcting the results of the initial surgery. Dr. Becker has extensive surgical practice in revision rhinoplasty, and has published a textbook on the procedure. He believes in educating his patients and helping them develop realistic expectations prior to performing revision surgery. In addition to making the patient happy, his secondary goal in a revision rhinoplasty is to make it the patient’s last nasal surgery.
